Regular Events

The Museum & Heritage Centre at 120 Pole Barn Lane, Frinton CO13 9NG is open Easter to the end of October; Thursdays 1am - 4pm, Fridays & Saturdays 10am - 4pm for for the four-day Easter weekend: Friday, 3 April to Monday, 6 April 2026 from 10am to 4pm and also every Tuesday morning from 10am to 12 noon. Come and view – free of charge – the exhibitions covering the geography which shaped the area, our prehistory followed by the development of Frinton and Walton through their industrial phases to the establishment of both as superb seaside holiday and tourist destinations. A small donation for a small museum would be appreciated and there are refreshments available. Our history publications are also on display to purchase in the small shop area.​​​​

Museum & Heritage Centre

ACCESSIBILITY: There is parking for blue-badge holders, ramped access with handrails for wheelchair users as well as a disabled toilet. There are cabinet as well as wall-mounted displays. There are rest facilities available in the meeting room, when not otherwise in use, and a small patio area to the rear.

Crossing Cottage, Gardens & The Trevor Bright Railway Museum

ACCESSIBILITY: As the Crossing Cottage and the Railway Museum are situated in old railway buildings, access is limited but help is available on request. There are steps into the Crossing Cottage and the toilet is unfortunately unsuitable for disabled use. There are cabinet as well as wall-mounted displays in both buildings. There are paved paths and lawns in the gardens as well as benches.

The Crossing Cottage Museum and the Trevor Bright Railway Museum are situated together within the beautiful Crossing Cottage Garden at Station Approach, Frinton CO13 9JT open monthly on every third Tuesday morning from October until Easter from 10am to 12 noon. Entry is free of charge, but donations are appreciated as they help us to maintain the museums.. Refreshments are available and there is often garden produce for sale, as well as homemade marmalade, jams and chutneys. Our historical publications are also available to purchase in the small shop area.
