Publications
We use our collections as a springboard to publishing books about local history. In 2011 we released Postcards from Walton-on-the-Naze, a collection of 115 postcard images starting at Stone Point at the tip of the Naze and walking along the seafront as far as Frinton with the return journey back through Walton town. Every picture is accompanied by informative text and the walk can be done in sections or even from an armchair!
In 2016, the Trust published Frinton-on-Sea: A brief History and Guide which included pencil sketch illustrations and a useful short summary of what visitors and locals alike need to know about famous Frinton.
Our latest volume, Postcards from Frinton’s Sea Front, was compiled in 2023 and is in the form of a handbook to accompany a walk along the three-mile Greensward and then back along the beach. It contains 160 fascinating, and some very rare, images with accompanying text. The next in the series will be about Great Holland and is due out in 2026.

All three of these volumes are available to purchase at any of our museums. If you like researching local history and writing it up, do consider joining our History Group to learn more about our area.
